Love Story in the 1970s

This drama follows Fei Ni, a hardworking textile factory girl in 1970s China whose biggest dream is getting into college to change her fate. When her former middle-school classmate Fang Muyang is injured while saving someone and becomes a local hero, Fei Ni volunteers to look after him — hoping a good deed might earn her a university recommendation.
But life has other plans. With family pressure mounting, including finding a home for her brother's wedding, Fei Ni proposes something bold: a fake marriage with Fang Muyang so they can secure housing. Two people, one bunk bed, zero romance… or so they think. As they navigate the struggles of the era together, the practical arrangement slowly, sweetly turns into something real. But will a marriage that began as a deal survive everything life throws at them and become a love that lasts? Watch to find out!
My Review….
I found this drama so cute and so relatable. The feelings in it were so authentic that they honestly touched my heart — because the female and male leads played everything with such sincerity. Nothing feels forced or overdone here. You can feel every glance, every quiet sacrifice, every small act of care.
I also loved how the second couple’s love evolved throughtout the course of the drama. They showed me what true love really is. I loved that about it: it doesn't take grand gestures. It takes two people becoming each other's person — laughing together, struggling together, pushing each other toward their dreams.
She fights for her college admission; he chases his dream of becoming a painter. And somewhere along the way you realize this drama is making a quiet point: it's that core understanding between two people that makes love everlasting. It is just a really, really, really sweet story. If you like slow-burn romances where the feelings sneak up on you, this one is absolutely worth your time.

The originality of the plot: The plot is not too original but the 1970s setting and the housing-allocation twist give the fake-marriage trope a fresh warmth — it's a good watch.
