Affinity

When a mysterious virus links a young woman to an aloof suspected killer, will their bond save them—or be the thing that destroys them?

Affinity drops us into a tense, near-future world where bizarre viral incidents aren’t just a public threat—they’re strangely personal. A young woman finds herself repeatedly crossing paths with a distant man who may or may not be dangerous, and the more the outbreaks escalate, the more their lives (and choices) start to intertwine. It’s part sci-fi mystery, part action survival, and unexpectedly… kind of romantic in that “we should not be getting closer right now” way. Tune in to uncover the truth.

My Review….

I genuinely enjoyed *Affinity*—it was one of those dramas that hooks you early with a cool concept and that constant sense of “something isn’t right.” The virus angle gives it a fresh, high-stakes vibe, and I liked how the story uses those strange events to keep pushing the leads together without it feeling completely random. The pacing is pretty tight for a 9-episode run too, which helped the tension land.

And yes, the chemistry between the leads? Surprisingly good. Even without a lot of info on the cast, the dynamic works: she’s pulled into this chaos, he’s emotionally walled-off and suspicious, and every scene between them has that delicious edge of “can I trust you or are you about to ruin my life?” Their connection deepening in the middle of danger was easily my favorite part.

That said… I’m with you: loved it, but it could’ve been better. The drama sometimes plays it a bit safe with its bigger sci-fi ideas, like it hints at deeper layers and then moves on before fully digging in. It also has some very obsvious logical loopholes and unncecesasry charcater deaths which made very little sense. A few moments also feel like they were one rewrite away from being truly great—especially when it comes to tightening the mystery and giving some emotional beats more room to breathe. Still, it’s a fun, bingeable ride with enough sparks and suspense to keep you clicking “next episode.” As always, whether you stream or skip is entirely up to you!
